Grief & Loss
Grief is a natural response to loss. It’s an emotional response you feel when something or someone you love is taken away. Often, the pain of loss can feel overwhelming, and you might feel your body is shutting down, or finding it difficult to go through things day-to-day.
You may experience all kinds of difficult and unexpected emotions, from shock or anger to disbelief, guilt, and profound sadness. The pain of grief can disrupt your physical health, making it difficult to sleep, eat, or even think straight. These are normal reactions to loss—and the more significant the loss, the more intense your grief will be.
Grief does not necessarily come from the death of a close family member or friend. In fact, grief can come from any sudden change in your life – from switching careers and ending long-term relationships, to retirement and selling the family home.
Working with me, I promise to hold space for your grief and help you honour the process. Grief is not a one-and-done thing, but a lifelong and continual process of change, integration, and growth. Together, we can explore your emotions, honour your loss, and help build self-care techniques that can aid in the process of grief.
