Alcohol / Substance Misuse
Whether its alcohol or another substance, drugs play a unique role in our lives. For example, alcohol is commonly consumed in social situations, and many people feel they can’t function without drinking coffee first thing in the morning. Across different cultures and history, humans have a history of experimenting and using different substances.
However, you might be feeling like your relationship with such substances is affecting your life. Perhaps you are on-and-off with substances, or you feel that they are taking over your life.
Dependency on alcohol and other substances can feel like an internal fight, and come with feelings of hopelessness, self-criticism, and affect your relationship with acquaintances, friends, and family.
We can begin by working towards unraveling negative patterns surrounding the use and dependence of drugs/alcohol, exploring and normalizing some of the isolating patterns you may have been experiencing for a long time.
We can work collaboratively to tackle the complexities of addiction, and work towards returning to a healthy and personally meaningful life.
