About
Mohit Bassi, RCC #18858 // Mental Health Counsellor & Psychotherapist // British Columbia, Canada
Born in India and raised in BC, I really value growing up in culturally diverse life contexts. I am honoured in working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including cultural, racial, and ethnic minorities. I have experience with clients across the lifespan (ages 9 – 75), coming from different backgrounds and contexts.
My counselling approach integrates narrative, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), EMDR, and trauma-informed practices, rooted in a mindfulness-based approach. I value and incorporate perspectives from both Western and Eastern theories of healing. I also speak Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
Some of my previous academic work has been on topics including culturally adapted counselling/psychotherapy, ethics, cognitive sciences, and political psychology. Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, lifting, and studying decentralized systems, including blockchain technology.
