Sleep or Insomnia
Whether you’re an animal or human, mammals spend about ⅓ of our lives in rest or sleep. Sleep seems to have a very adaptive evolutionary mechanism underlying it, which illustrates how important it is that we get a good night of sleep, regularly.
Sleep is crucial in memory consolidation, muscle recovery, and our general health and well-being.
At some points in our lives, for any number of reasons, you might come across sleep difficulties. Over time, these sleep difficulties can lead to chronic sleep deprivation, and insomnia.
Having struggled with sleep issues myself, I can resonate with the fact that you don’t need to have anxiety, stress, or something “keeping you up at night”, to suffer from insomnia. You may feel that you are in an endless cycle of exhaustion, and have to almost fight with yourself when you go to bed and try to get a full night of restful sleep.
Working together, we can explore your sleep patterns and look at what has and has not worked. Through a mindfulness-based lens, we can learn to be more attuned to our bodies, better understand our sleep hygiene, and overcome an exhaustive pattern that you might have felt stuck in for a very long time.
