Men’s Issues
Our culture around understanding mental health and awareness is generally poor. There is a lot of shame, guilt, and weakness associated with the idea of reaching out and getting help, especially for men.
At times, you may find it difficult to work with a female counsellor about sensitive issues or uncomfortable topics. Its possible that you have had thoughts about seeking help for a long time, but always felt that you can handle your emotions, or that you have other outlets for expressing yourself.
Please know that if you have been feeling stuck with something for a long time, it might help to talk to somebody about your inner struggles. I provide a safe and compassionate place for you to work through problems, and help you express your emotions, in a non-judgmental way. You may have been on the fence about reaching out and speaking with a mental health professional for a long time. I recognize how difficult it is to match with the right counsellor, and to feel safe and heard when you do share your thoughts and emotions with someone.
Working together, I provide a safe space to share and work through problems that men may more often face, without the stigmatization around working to improve your mental health and be your best self.
