Obesity
More people than ever are considered overweight or obese.
Many focus on physical exercise and radically change their diets, but tend to fail and fall back to their original weight, possibly even gaining more weight in the process.
Accepting yourself as you are can be difficult to do. You may have complicated health problems, take medications as a result of added weight, or feel strain on your body from carrying excess weight and having little muscle mass. You may have experienced fat shaming, guilt, and internalized ideas that you are “lazy”.
I want to recognize that change is difficult, and that physical health goes hand-in-hand with mental health. The feelings of defeat, self-doubt, and low self-esteem may get in the way of trying to be your best self, and achieve your goals.
Working with me, we can explore your journey towards maintaining a healthy body in a judgment-free way, and collaboratively work towards dealing with negative thoughts and behaviours around food consumption, emotional eating, and low self-esteem. Together, we can integrate your mental health into your overall health and fitness goals.
